An easy to follow recipe for Sweet Apple Pie
Apple pie is a classic dessert that is loved by people all over the world. With its sweet, fruity filling and flaky crust, it’s no wonder that it’s a favorite choice for special occasions and holidays. If you’ve never made apple pie before, don’t worry – it’s actually quite easy to do, and the results are well worth the effort.
To make a sweet apple pie, you will need the following ingredients:
- 4 cups of thinly sliced apples (use a mix of sweet and tart varieties for the best flavor)
- 3/4 cup of granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon of allspice
- 2 tablespoons of butter, cut into small pieces
- 1 recipe for a double crust pie crust (either store-bought or homemade)
To begin, preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Next, mix together the sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice in a small bowl. In a separate bowl, toss the sliced apples with the sugar mixture until they are evenly coated.
Roll out one of the pie crusts and place it in the bottom of a 9-inch pie dish. Pour the apple mixture into the pie dish and dot the top with the butter. Roll out the second pie crust and place it on top of the filling. Crimp the edges together to seal the pie and cut a few slits in the top to allow steam to escape.
Bake the pie for 15 minutes, then reduce the heat to 350°F (180°C) and continue baking for an additional 45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly. Allow the pie to cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing and serving.
Serve your apple pie warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. You can also enjoy it cold, with a cup of coffee or tea. No matter how you choose to serve it, this sweet and delicious apple pie is sure to be a hit with family and friends. Enjoy!
